Hornady make a 110gr vmax for .277.

I have a mate that has shot more deer than I have had hot meals, he swears by them for fallow (He only neck shoots though).

+1 for the Sierra 130gn SPBT. Apart from a mixed batch of factory ammo in the early days, had a mate load up a hundred of the aforementioned and never looked back. I’m a neck shooter generally, apart from a handful of reds shot in the bread basket and they pretty much just fell over or never walked more than 10-15mts.
Just seem to do the job with minimal fuss in most situations close or far.

and that right there is the thing......same deal with 130grn hp speers in .308 awesome on goats and great for head or neck shooting reds at full speed (why the helicopter shooters love them) but not so flash if chest shooting bigger deer or indeed a boar..... head neck shot = partial decapitation or a near miss of bone will still shock the hell out of brain/neck and concuss animal the massive trauma to veins/artleries mean they will NORMALLY bleed out before coming around.... same projectiles in shoulder can fail to get into chest cavity...... picking shots and /or matching projectiles to task at hand= clean kills,and that is what we should all be aiming for.

@Micky Duck not so much they are inaccurate, just meant to be less so than an accubond.
In the 264 win mag literature the 140gr partition is meant to do very well.
Terminal results from accubonds and partitions of similar weights for calibre are meant to be very much the same

I would move up to 140 or 150gr with more tangible bullets in 270W. Gameking, speer btsp or bergers for a flash one.
Std cup and core 130gr work well. Interlocks, hotcors or accubond for a flash one.
I'm using 130gr interlocks in a 19inch 270 to good effect.

@Longrun what powder you stoking them up with?

W760. There are prolly better powders though I have a bit of this. Starting to ration shooting though now...waiting for the powder boat to come in.

Hornady 145 gr ELDX good for long range, fast opening but will get the job done, most cup and core type projectiles in the 130 to 150 gr will work well in the 270 win.
