load?
308 was 49.5 grains 2208 pushing 130 tsx barnes seated 50thou off lans, i have fired about 15 rounds of this load with no problems but on saturday all 3 rounds of the group had slight ejector marks. max load according to barnes data is 52 grains.
All good will drop it back a grain and see how it goes.
I have been trying to get my head around using a micrometer and measuring case expansion, probably a bit more accurate than having a look at the primer!

What brass?
Hi VC
was federal brass, reloaded from factory blue box.

Its very soft in the head(like me !:D)
I wouldn't be too concerned with slight marks as they do that factory loaded. Providing your not getting sticky bolt lift or anything scary like primers falling out.
What velocity are you getting?
Yep me too! Soft in the head that is.
No primers falling out, very slight sticky lift though!
Dont have a chrony yet so not sure how fast they going. I am not shooting from a plane so should be easy enough to measure:thumbsup:

Brass is pretty expensive especially in odd calipers and materials now really pricy so I'd suggest neck sizing if possible to get your $s back.
While Im very happy with the Lee full size die, and ppl have success with lee neck collet dies, I dont....they dont like me, ie sometimes it takes 3 goes to get a fit/squeeze which means caliper checking every time, til Im happy, takes way too long for me*. So ive bought S type neck Redding competition dies for 303 and 308 and im just looking at what brass to standardise on. The bugger is the collet at $23 each per size.
*Im going to try a new / another press shortly, my Lee alloy one might be giving to much for the collet to bite, or so its been suggested.
im using hornady custom dies and dont have any problems with them
Hi Steven
This dude on youtube has a good review of how to set up, maybe worth a look

Thats a good Vid, that one by Ammosmith ... I got the lee collet die after watching it, and I'm VERY happy with it.
Love his stuff on You tube .. very informative and easy to understand and watch..
Some guys seems to make vids coz they love the sound of their own voice ;)
