    Fun quiz

Are You a Ballistics Wizard? Take Our Interactive Ballistics Quiz « Daily Bulletin

    I got 80%

Not sure I agree with their answer about the hollow point in match projectiles.

Sorry EBF - 90% and the one I got wrong said I chose 0.1 milirad when I was certain I chose 2". Damn tablet keyboard. The hollow point I was reasonably certain about but thanks for the semi heads up.

Yup, that was the other one that got me too

Always though the hollow point created some mini area of low pressure / low drag. Never too old to learn so etching new !

The main purpose of a boat-tail on a bullet is to

    = reduce cost to manufacture.

The small hollow space at the tip of a match bullet is there to

    = it’s a by-product of manufacturing.

If your observed trajectory is ½ MOA low from a ballistic software prediction at ALL RANGES, the most likely cause is:

= you are f'ing blind, go back to Kaitoke and do it right.

    I got the 2" at 100yds wrong....doh.

60% but then i'm a bush hobbit. Could almost get away with using a club which doesn't require knowledge about BC, spin drift, speed of sound (which I guess is a major factor) air density etc

Mauser308, I pretty much got to the air density / humidity thing by discarding the other options...

Litz in his book reckons that humidity is so small an effect, that you just set the balistic calc to 50% humidity and forget about it.

With the hollow points I was thinking of the SMK and SGK which I have used both on deer successfully
