    GMX

Who is running them in what cal how fast and how has terminal performance been at what ranges?
I have seen a few results of 120gr 6.5 launched at very fast on deer at various ranges.
I have a fair bit of experience with the 130ttsx on game and am looking to try the 150gmx but they dont appear to open as well at lower speeds as the barnes according to my internet research.

Used to run the 139gr factory load in my Rem Mag before I started rolling my own, think it was 3100fps iirc?
Was told they were very hard and would pencil through at lower velocities but the billy I shot at 600yds through the shoulders went down like he had been pole axed.

Only Lr experience I have with them unfortunately, decided I liked being up close shortly after that!

    Ok. Nice.
My understanding is that all of the monolithic bullets are designed so you can go down in weight for a given calibre and the faster they go the better they perform. Out to 300m you may be better off going lighter in 30cal.
I use them in the 223 and they go in one side and out the other and kill stuff.

150 is as light as they go in 30 cal. Barnes do 130 110 and I used the 130 fairly extensivly launched at 3180.

No, was my first thought too, on retrieval it was bang on point of the shoulder, broke both shoulders and exited, hard to judge expansion as lots of bone splinters in exit, probably 50c piece size exit.
Was also on steep slope so could have been losing both shoulders and tumbling down a good few metres that made it look like one of those instant fragile bullet kills.

Only really shot goats with them closer too, was devastating but then a 7RM is quite over the top for goats so pretty much anything would have worked, always exited though.

Had the same thing with the Barnes in my 270.
Everything else shot to the same (close enough) place at 100.
Oh. Woodleighs wouldn't shoot at all.

2 308s ago it was mint. The barnes shot 2 inches above the amax 100m zero.
    Not so lucky this time.
