Actually I think I might have come across a video of his on youtube. It is an interesting round out of an AR.

Out of an AR with limited magazine lenght it would be nice. Out of an ordinary bolt gun I can see no reason why not go 6,5x47 or 6,4 Creedmoor. If you want moderate velocity with 32gr powder, but 32gr powder in the bigger case and get the same velocity. My action was a 6PPC so unable to use a longer cartridge than 6,5 Grendel.

Very happy with my Grendel, but cannot see a reason to power-handicap oneself unless magazine lenght dictates this cartridge.

    My data:
    Barrel Lilja 20"
    Bullet 123gr Amax
    V0 775 msec/ 2540 fps
    Powder CFE223 30+ grains

Accuracy so far has been "disturbing".

AR15? A mate is doing it to a CZ527 conversion from 7.62x39 to Grendel which has triggered my interest in the cartridge. I must admit seeing some of the accuracy this 6.5mm can do (yet its based on the AK round) and its adequate energy I am surprised that its not got a big following.

Yep AR15 the first of 6 different calibre uppers I'm doing

It feels like I've been waiting for the bits forever....

Looking forward to picking it up from the couriers tomorrow

    PS its not a 6.5

I believe it's based on the 6 PPC, hence the precision potential. I think it would be better to go 6,5x47 or 6,5 Creedmoor where the magazine length allows. It seems daft to handicap oneself just for "fun".
