@Norway , Could you get away with a .223 size suppressor and lighter weight barrell compared to say the .260 rem ?

Im thinking the main advantage of a grendel would potentially be a lighter rifle overall than for 308 based cases. This is for hunting, not steel. If you limit your range to 300m, the lesser kinetic energy and velocity/BC could be OK.

There doesn't seem to be a wide range of high quality donor actions with short stroke and big base. Just the cz and those old sakos that were made in 6mm PPC. Are there others ?

Not sure. But for instance the silencer Atec TMM4 is 220 grams and I am sure there is similar options from other manufacturers.
I absolutely agree with you light rifle observation. That was my goal for this rifle, but I didn't check the component weight before building so ended up with an ordinary rifle.

At 300 meters the Grendel/123gr bullet hits with the same velocity as a 22-250/65 gr bullet but more than double the energy. If you're happy with that, it's fine. I've only shot three small deer with mine so cannot comment properly.

One deer fell on the spot.
One running deer stumbled and fell.
One deer ran for 10 seconds, but fortunately in a circle so it ended up where it was shot.
