Add Tin or Antimony or both.

    Google is your friend.

A popular mix for rifle and pistol is 50/50 (pure lead to clip on wheel weight) then add 2% tin. Water drop from your mold .Stick on wheel weights are nearly pure lead so dont use those without testing. A lot of wheel weights these days are zink and you dont want them mixed up in your lead alloy at all. There is a whole lot of stuff you need to know before you get successful loads optimised.

I get my tin by buying pewter at the flea markets. Bar solder is another source. It seems to pop up when needed. The tin in the mix is for good fill out giving sharp boolits .

Thanks for that. Have had a couple of bathces of lead from wheel weights that was hard, couldn`t scratch with a finger nail , but have had a hell of a time replicating it again. Its for a 44mag subsonic load. Looks like Ill have to scratch up some pewter.
