About LinkBacksBarnards would be nice but they're pricey as well as being heavy. I think if the NZHS rifle was to be built it would need to be affordable for most and practical too.
My thoughts on specs are:
Howa stainless short action
TrueFlite #3 or #4 at 22" (flutes?)
Senator Carbon or McMillan Sako hunter Edge stock
standard Howa bottom metal and trigger but tuned to 2lbs or so.
One of the good smiths could be approached to see if they'd be keen to do it or not.
