    High BC .308 factory rounds

    Hi all

I’ve been using the Sako Gamehead pro 165g (Sierra Gamechanger Projectile) and have been really impressed with the results in hunting situations and accuracy

That being said supply has become a real issue and doesn’t look like it’s going to sort itself anytime soon! Any advice on an another high BC round to try instead? I would go to the 150s but thought I’d see if there are any better alternatives first

    Cheers

That would be the ones you load into your used brass I guess...( being a total smartarse )
I know a lot but it seems less every day...

    Greetings All,
I don't think that is being a smartarse at all @Jhon. @NakiNewbie handloading is something that you may wish to consider. If your aim is to produce equivalent cartridges to what you are currently using it is a simple process, especially with the .308. There should be handloaders in your area happy to help you to handload on their gear. Ask around.
    Regards Grandpamac.

You will struggle to find a high BC projectile for a .308 that is under 200 grains.
Don’t worry too much about BC - find what you can, work out and verify your drops and go hunting.
And the team above are right - get into reloading or find a mate who is.

High BC and 308 don’t really go together. Find whatever alternative shoots accurate enough in your rifle and run with it.

I see you are local to the Naki @Jhon, would be keen to have a chat about the merits of reloading at some stage if that suits you! Its something I've considered for a while but put in the "too hard" basket

Hornady 165gr SST superformance goes good for me if you can find it.

Or 168 eld-m superformance ammo is high bc

Hornady match/superperformance 168eldm would surely be your best bet but will be a bit slower. Depending on how far you want to shoot the 150s should be fine and I would suggest the nosler/norma 150nbts. There is always 150sst superperformance but can be a bit explodey if used up close as they fly
