Saw this today and thought it would be fairly easy for those capable.

Anyone see a reason why not?

I watched that video a while ago and while pondering I came across a cheaper but more involved option:

I can’t think of any reason why not.
I put a even cheaper model on the Here and now thread last week

I'll AMP anneal for a forum member for free. There are some conditions. Will see if I can find and bump that post. Completely understand wanting to homebuild though...sits outside my capability (homebuild generally).
At least you know your limitations

I stand up and line up 50+ deprimed cleaned cartridges on the bench, light up the handheld propane Bunsen torch and direct it at the junction of neck and shoulder of the first cartridge. I move to the next one the moment steam stops condensing on the cartridge body at the lower edge of the flame.
This is not a complete anneal which would require glowing brass but it's sufficient to de-stress the neck from work hardening. To do a complete anneal you'd have to stand the cartridge bases in water to protect them from being de-stressed / softened, so I do the condensation reading thing which indicates the upper third of the cartridge body has reached >100C or water boiling point, and so the neck must surely be done.
Doing it with a candle until you have to let go (ouch! aah! ya b....) of the cartridge base is a good option but I have settled on the propane torch, its just quicker and easier on my fingers.
No reason to rotate the brass in the flame, the flame wraps nicely round the brass and if you ever tried the candle method you'll know brass is a very good heat conductor and this guarantees even heat distribution in the neck brass.
An itch ... is ... a desire to scratch
Once you run a large variety of brass across an induction annealer you realise that brass aint brass. Yes some brands or batches can go to cherry but most dont. If you've neck turned or wet tumbled and its clean, the annealing mark isnt uniform too.
I reckon for the gas annealers you'll know if you've fully annealed if all you seatings feel consistant. Thats the end goal anyway
If you go and read and watch the AMP videos you will realise it is futile to flame anneal and get consistent results.
End of story.

My favorite sentences i like to hear are - I suppose so. and Send It!
Did wonder that myself but without in hand it's hard to know. Be nice to have the real deal......but oh well
Why not build one from the posts on here under projects...
