Home made resizing lube recipe? Got given 1 kg of beeswax.... ideas?

After having a read of the different resizing lubes that ppl use, and that it seems Lee resizing lube is water based (rusty dies..?) wondering if anyone has tried their own lube with beeswax in??

Used beeswax to make black powder lube - different animal obviously to die lube. Had to mix various snake oils with it to make it more pliable. I don't think it could be the basis for a die lube as it is much too thick/hard (Viscous??). I stand to be corrected though.......

Try Targex recipe. Anhydrous lanolin and vaseline. Sweet mix and it preserves your dies.

    heh heh... nice ideas!

Yeah I figured the beeswax is too hard and a mission to use as case lube... will look into the lanolin and vaseline... where to source the lanolin, cost effectively?

Do you lay you shells on a cloth and lube then store that cloth somewhere in a container and use it again and again so it soaks up the lube?

Throw the LEE shit in the bin and buy just about anything else!

One bottle of spray will last years, shake before use and 2 pumps into a plastic bag with your cases then roll them round = sorted

Caster Oil.... about $10 will get you a small bottle of it at your local chemist. Once you've finished resizing, clean the cases using some of that supercheap degreaser in a can.
Had too much trouble with the lee stuff cloging the mag dies, too many bumped shoulders, no matter how little amount i used.

Lanolin is bloody expensive at the chemist ,you have to buy nipple treatment stuff, you need to get onto a industrial or commercial source. I use beeswax, chef aid lanolin and a cooking oil melted together in a formula based on volume in a pan over boiling water.

Raw Lanolin (as in untreated wool grease) isn't available in NZ. I tried various wool processors/scours - aND THEY ALL EXPORT - NO BODY (oooops) had any available.

Some even said they were prevented from such sales. As noted previously you can get stuff that's re-processed - ie nipple cream or whatever at exhorbitant prices. I wanted it to mix with white spirits to re-proof my swannie! Most actually goes to our souvenir shops once processed!

It's processed in France apparently. Pharmacies no longer carry the raw product - I tried several including hospital dispensaries who often carry the exotic stuff.

Naturally if anyone here can prove me wrong, put us right so you can lube your bullets and I'll proof my swannie!

    Si
NOBODY IS PERFECT - but if you're from Yorkshire you're pretty close
The above was written slowly, for those of us who can't read quickly.
