    Hornady 139SST

    Is anyone loading these in a Tikka 7-08 with 2208.
    I've been loading 140 Nosler ballistic tips so just want get an idea of powdered weight with the SST

    I would leave your existing load alone,and simply exchange projectile....the 1 grn of projectile weight is nothing in grand scheme of things,you could fine that variation in batch anyway..... by leaving seating die set same way,the oglive bit SHOULD be similar jump to lands,and its a proven load so you will have confidence in it...wont worry its too hot etc.
    in these times of component shortages,the less we need to poke into paper the better.

    Ran 43.5gr 2208 from memory in my tikka. Running elds these days.

    That was my BT load. I actually have a few SST, might load em up at mag length behind that load and see what happens.

    Greetings,
    I loaded 42.5 grains of AR2208 behind the 140 grain Remington Corelokt in the 7mm-08 recently. This is 1 grain below Hodgdon/ADI max but gave 2,710 fps from a 480mm barrel and excellent accuracy. A standard Tikka barrel is 570mm so an extra grain of powder with the longer barrel shound give about 2,850 fps. Hodgdon loads are with the Hornady 139 grain interlok.

    45gns 748 for 2800ish fps from standard T3
