Hi all,
Just cast some bullets for the 45/70 for the first time, took a bit of practice but ended up getting what I think are good looking bullets and measure about .4587 out of the mold (measured with verniers, I know not ideal).
My problem is the hornady gas checks I have got seem a bit loose on the shank, most can spin and some come off with a light tug after pushing through a 459 lee sizing die.
The internet says that this could be a problem with the thinner material that hornady uses and that Gator checks might crimp tighter?
Has anyone else encountered this?
Also does anyone have a few 458 Gator checks I could buy to see if that helps?
Thanks
