Greater margins in the loaded and they needed to increase production of the projectiles. Use the higher margins to expand production and increase economies of scale.
Tesla does the same with its cars. Takes deposits across the range. But for the first 6-12months they will only deliver the cars with the most options. Options have way higher margins than base model cars.
