The action is slabsided and profiled in the same style as the tikka. Up close the action looks as much or more tikka than it does Howa. It's just a nickname.
The tikka reference in post 1 should be more clear. I have hunted and shot with a stock Tikka t3x 223 for a year now. I've killed a few animals with it and taken it out past 1000 on steel at the hunters shoot last year. I like the calibre but dislike the rifle ergonomics personally. The action adds an inch vs the howa plus unneeded weight.
The comment was meant to say that the tikka proved it was worth investing in a nicer setup 223.
