    Humping & Fisting

Down the line and called in to the local to have a look around and thought I'll grab some powder while I'm here, save me 30 min drive to me usual. So ol mate heads out back and comes back with a container of H4895 with the price tag of $100. I actually said "holy fuck" under my breath but I think he overheard and wasn't to impressed when I said I'll give it a miss. He stormed off rather quickly.

They must have some serious buying power and that seems ridiculously overpriced. Does that price vary store to store, does anyone buy their powder from them?

Didn't know they sold powder. Certainly wouldn't be first, second or third choice to buy from any of the ones I've been in as I don't think most of them would know how to reload.

I have been to three or four of those places around the country and have never seen anything relegated to reloading in any of them.

Have bought powder from my local mainly because it’s too much effort to get it anywhere else. Can’t really compare on price but they have always looked after me.

Yeah, you pay a premium for the Hodgdon name.

Exported from ADI in Oz in bulk to the States, packaged in pretty cans and then all the way back to NZ. Why would buy the Hodgdon.....

Yea they didnt have the 2206h was my first choice. So asked for H4895. Think WSI has it at $78ish.

They actually had a fair selection of reloading stuff, for a H&F. Dies, brass, powdermeasuring, tools, lubes, calipers, shell holders etc.
I guess their location means they stock it and people buy it cause powder is too far to travel for. They only stocked for the mainstream type calibres though.....

I think potentially we might see prices increase for everything as supplies dwindle, or get held up in a warehouse somewhere.

    Stock up I reckon

Yes prices are going up, last box of 6 mm SSTs cost me $ 73 seen them today for $93. Once again the supply from overseas ain't helping with prices.

I've never seen a drop of powder or a die or anything similar in my local H/F and there is major reloading going on around here.
The south gets it a bit tough in that department
Seems the powder comes in north and if your lucky whats left drifts south, eg R26 is like fairy dust down here. I'd be really keen for some but....?
Don't need just one can , no bloody use if you get a good load then can't get anymore.

Up to the individual owner operator to stock the shelves then I guess, I've never seen anything in Tauranga or Hamilton but have never really looked that hard to be fair. Just happened to be driving through Taupo so called in for a look

Paid 90 bucks for a bottle of 2206H from Gun Supplies last weekend. I've just come to expect it buying from smaller shops. No reason a place like HF shouldn't be able to match the price of Reloaders though. I wish powder wasn't such a ball ache to get around the county.
