not with blackout...but played lots with the x39mm Roberts cast 151s are great....BUT you will be much better with nearly subsonic..eg 1200-1500fps the difference in terminal preformance is huge, the difference in volume is not.....a quiet efficient killing load is so much better than a silent not efficient one. dont get me wrong,I would happily shoulder/chest shoot fallow hind/yearling in semi open country when have dog...they will go down, just maybe 50-100 yards away unless you hit spine/neck/head...but if you go for the smaller area with instant kill and miss by tiny bit...Bo will have work to do as its like poking a target point through...ZERO shock power.
I've found them to work quite well on wallabies. Maybe a little inconsistent though.
Have shot one side on thru the shoulders (heard the shoulders crunching from the impact) which ran stumbling for about 50m. Damn rear wheel drive.
Have texas heartshot one as it bounced away and it dropped on the spot. Bullet didn't exit. Should have autopsied it to examine the bullet but had no time.
Majority have been bang flops with good placement so they're obviously getting reasonable expansion and doing quite a bit of wounding... most of the time. Some inexplicable runner from what felt like identical shots.
Wouldn't hesitate to shoot a fallow with one. I think hilar or shoulder would be fine. Neck shoot if feeling clever. Be prepared to track and understand they don't deliver the shock of high velocity rounds.

I dont use my rossi 44 much. You can borrow it for a couple of months to have a play Ryan. 300 grn subs smoke fallow
I bought a 300BLK rifle with the intention of using it suppressed with subs for goats in dense bush. I don't reload, so have been using Hornady Sub-X rounds which are supposed to be designed for hunting and expand at subsonic speeds. First goat I shot was a classic chest shot. Animal didn't seem to know it was hit and required a follow-up shot which paralysed it (neck shot), but didn't kill it. Ugly situation in my book. I have shot a few goats since then, but all have been head/neck shots. All fell over dead as you would expect, but I'm not overwhelmed with the Sub-X rounds. There are better projectiles available if you reload.
head and neck shots, unless you are very good at locating the heart or maybe try these if you can find them.

eye watering $3.50 a projectile.
SuperSonics no worries. Subs….yeah nah.

I know a few people down these neck of the woods who use the single shot bergara's for bail up pig guns. They run the subsonic American eagle load or the Hornady sub X and they seem pretty happy with the results.
@tikka is probably the expert on here for 300blackout and subs. Here is one of his threads

Treat subs like bowhunting if not taking cns shots.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
308Win One chambering to rule them all.
I use the 190 Sub-X and find them very accurate in my rifle out to 60 yards but as others have said, perfect shot placement is required.
I only head shoot with them now and I have to be very certain of the shot. As VC said, it takes you into bow hunting territory. The best thing about my load is that all I have to do is dial up 6moa from my supersonic load and I am ready to roll.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
Having shot subs out of my 308 on fallow and pigs I really didnt like them as much as the as the bow which had a much bigger wound path. And limiting myself to 50m means its bow range with good practice and a compound. They killed but very slow often used both lead HPs and Lehighs. The Lehigh's were much better and id be happy shooting them for lungs etc within rage but the lead have been demoted to head shots (which i dont really or pests. I also used the factory Winchester subs but they were supersonic in my rifle although they did expand well they didn't seem to do any more damage than the lead bullets. I haven't tried the Sub x however and have only seen one shot and it was straight on as a homekill lamb and it kind of ramped up the skull and deflected. we didnt realise this at the time as the sheep got knocked out cold but woke up as we started to slit its throat. A closure inspection showed a cut/gouge up the forehead splitting the skin etc. Personally I do carry some sub loads with my 308 and will load some for my 7mm08 to carry to be able to shoot hares, possums etc but if i wanted a sub gun id buy something bigger bore like 45/70, 450 bushmaster.
From my experience hornady sub ammo Is shit. Inconsistent speeds, few supers in a sub box haha. 44mag could be a good bet? There is a very sexy 300blk mod 7 on tm...
there is likely to be a few more when folks wake up and realize what has been typed out in this thread is a fairly good representation across spectrum of hunting types and useage....the milage doesnt vary all that much when you compare what all have said...
subsonic .30 cal is pretty much the same no matter the case, killing power or lack thereof doesnt change.
supersonic...well the blackout does nothing anymanner of other cartridges cant do as well and much better.
so that ONLY leaves the little action ,lightweight and fast twist as advantages..... suddenly doesnt look so flash Harry anymore.
