    Importing brass from Australia????

Contemplating building either a 222 or a 6 x 47 but want to use Lapua brass which seems to be out of stock everywhere here in NZ. Any tricks to ordering some brass from Australia if I can find some?

Bringing it back in baggage doesn't seem to be a problem

I know a lot but it seems less every day...

Due to the exorbitant cost of reloading components, warning shots will not be given.

I’d love to know how to post Brass out of Aussie so I can get my relatives to send me some. Does anyone know the process for people to export from Aus rather than a retail store?

Yes its complicated, you need an export license from the ministry of defense to start.

What nor-west said. I've been looking at what is required to bring projectiles from SA to NZ, transiting through Sydney and oh man it's a mission.

Your relatives will have to register with the DoD, which requires either an Australian business number, or a customs client ID to be able to get access to the online portal.

A mate is bringing projectiles in from Oz and is currently awaiting the DOD to approve said projectiles for export... its not easy and does take time.

Best solution might be to buy a 223.

Sorry i just tacked this on to an existing thread

    I certainly wasn't interested in 223 brass

I was thinking about something massively bigger with a capacity of about 170 grains and a bullet diameter over 15mm
