I had the same rifle once. Shooting prone the stock used to belt my cheek bone. Sitting , standing all good.
Try softer 150 gn loads or run 130s. For a while.

When I moved up from my .22LR to my Franchi .243 I got a bit of a flinch on (after the first session of shooting it, at which I was fine, probably because I was "new rifle fever")
I was anticipating the BOOM and snatching at the trigger, with predictable results.
What worked for me was to slow myself right down and get my breathing sorted, couple of sessions like that and now I'm good and it's not been an issue since no idea if that's of any help to you but it worked for me.
Also, to the OP, whilst I know nothing about reloading, what you're explaining is fascinating

expect nothing, appreciate everything - and there's ALWAYS something to appreciate
Likely nobody will be interested, but I thought I'd type out an update about what happened to this rifle.
After 2 or 3 Leith Valley range visits I couldn't make it shoot. So I asked Mr Passmore to give it a try, and he couldn't make it shoot either. Two different shooters, multiple different types of ammo, including some of Passmores hand loads. Passmore said it was a bedding issue, so I got that done. Only to find out the Leith range was shut for 2 months for winter maintenance.
Their first day open was today, and I took it along. Put a box of 150gr hornady whitetail ammo through it. The money seems well spent on the bedding job. With my amateur front-rest-only ability it was grouping within an inch or so, and consistently in the same place on the paper. Very very pleased
Absolutely stoked to read that mate.absolutely stoked. Now go shoot a deer and fill the freezer.
75/15/10 black powder matters
Yes, I will smite a deer soon. I have a plan
I sighted in the howa 223 I bought from mudgripz too. That thing is a honey to shoot
