Bit of an update:
My radar has been repaired and should be on its way home shortly. Its taken a while but I made it very clear at the beginning I was in no hurry. The guy Iv been dealing with is the sole repairer and has had a hectic schedule so Im more than happy with the time frame. Communication has been very good, we had a chat about the cause and it has been covered by the warrenty.
A couple of points he raised , hes had quite a few units in for repair with overloads through the usb port so if your using an aftermarket power source then you'd better be sure its not spiking or suplying to much voltage. Also has had some with "handling issues" so look after them, they may not be that resistant to hard knocks. You will have to make up your own minds as to how that might fit with your personal approach. Iv asked Him about muzzle blast from larger cartridges, hes away at present so Ill post his reply when I get it.
The cost of the repair with freight would have been $215 AU.
The guys name is Dave Bilton and hes started an Aus labradar. Here LabRadar Australia – Australia's LabRadar Distributor . Should have a range of accessories etc.
So over all ,a good result, very good guy , excellent to deal with and really knows the product.
