    lee loadmaster press

hey guys , I have one of these presses, and love it , it works for me . speaking to the wellington importer of lee , he said they stopped bringing them in because , too complicated and fiddly etc etc... (they sorta are ) .... anyway , im asking that if any of you guys are in your local gunstores , that if you see any parts or accessories , like different calibre shellplates (.308 or .223 ) then can you let me know please, or even little things like the plastic flipper that makes the shell plate move ... I know I can order from overseas , and will if needed , but some places here may be keen to just get rid of old stock !!!!
    cheers stumpy !!!!

    Stumpy

I have two Loadmasters and lots of spares, especially flippers.

I picked up a lot from old stock out of reloaders suppliers and crafties

I might be able to spare a couple if your in a fix.

Unfortunately I won't be home for three weeks so can't do anything immediately.

In the meantime this is where I get all my parts from.

Master Distributor for Reloading products and parts

Lee Reloading Supplies | Reloading Equipment Lee Precision | Discount Reloading Supplies by Lee | Titan Reloading

And you also might want to try here.

    Reloading

I'll also keep an eye out in the gun shops I visit over the next three weeks.

    Cheers

Taieri arms seems to have spares ring them.

I wouldnt try doing big cartridges in them, or maybe i should say dont be disappointed if you have issues on anything bigger than a 223. I had huge problems with 308 and 303brit with the head constantly turning. For pistol and small cartridges that dont need huge effort to full resize I think they are probably fine.

Yeah I hear what your saying Steven.

I don't load 308 in my Loadmasters, however I do several pistol calibres, 25-20, 222 and 223 with no problems at all.

I got two bags of flippers off of Crafty (12 in total), and a small primer feeder assembly.

He didn't know what they were and I didn't say either

    Got them for bugger all.

That's why I said I could maybe spare some.

    Cheers

Also think I cleaned out Reloaders Suppliers stock of loadmaster parts last year, although I think I did leave him with a shell plate or two.

This link lists all the parts required for each calibre including shell plates.

    http://leeprecision.com/cgi-data/instruct/LM3231.pdf

    308 requires a 2L shell plate.

I'll keep an eye out for one if you like.

Old P38 dropped onto the tarmac in Dorkland last night Stumpy.

    Will be home tomorrow.

Could have easily stayed on Holiday

Didn't find any loadmaster parts on my travels.

However if you send me your address and I'll post you some flippers.

When you say the flipper is munted what do you mean?

Post some pics and we can have a look.

Also put a smear of light grease on the flipper return cam on the press frame, this will help heaps.

    Cheers
    Pete

cheers pete , the plastic guide that mates with the ribwork of the press is no longer a nice straight edge and is floppy when moving , . will flick my address to you .

Check that your shell plate carrier is aligned correctly and is clamped tightly so as there is minimal gap between the indexing rod and the press frame.

Also adjust the flipper on the indexing rod out until there is no rotational movement in the shell plate when the ram is fully down and the indexing rod is locked in.

This You Tube video explains it nicely.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7Dqpfrt5fI

I'll post you a couple of flippers tomorrow.

    Cheers
