My br-in-law is after some loads for this chambering, particularly projectiles in the 70gr range. Rifle is 8 twist.
Middlestead and possibly 220 Jaybird loads are of relevance too if you have any
thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Mate, every couple of weeks we have someone asking for a load for xxx caliber. Asking someone else for load data gives me the shits !
The entire point about reloading, even more so for the specialist calibers you mention, is to "roll your own". Every single rifle is unique, the chamber might be slightly different, the barrel could be in a different state. The whole point is to custom tailor rounds to YOUR specific rifle. Just as an example, your brother in laws rifle may have a longer barrel, so if he goes ahead and uses a load from someone with a shorter barrel using fast powder, he could very well be looking at something pretty scary.
Asking someone else for load data (and what you are likely to get is mostly on the hot side) is about as clever as picking up a random cartridge lying in the dirt on a range and being willing to fire it.
If you want info about how to go through a load development process, there are several guys on here who will happily answer any questions. Bottom line is, to get the benefit of custom tailored rounds, you need to be willing to put in the effort and work up a load slowly and safely, to find what works for that specific rifle.
Rant over

Im guessing the intention here is to find out what powders work in this non standard cal with this weight bullet without having to wear out the barrel trying all combinations.
give people some credit ebf
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
308Win One chambering to rule them all.
Thanks KG and V.
I really didn't need the rant for the following reasons:
- i searched the forum under all the permutations and nothing came up
- I'm an experienced handloader with over a dozen chamberings and I understand the individual rifle issues.
As V rightly concluded, he is more interested in knowing suitable powders with ballpark charges including starting ones.
Thanks guys
Buy Quickload or get someone on here who has it to run some simulations for you then.

At the end of the day it's the individuals choice whether to use the load data. This happens all the time on such forums.. and it's not a textbook standard caliber either soo..
If reloading data gives you the shits mate, try taking a dose of Pepto-Bismol. Reloading is a pleasant pass-time and the last thing one needs is the 'runs'. Hope this helps.
Mine likes 80gn Targex and ADI 2213 1-8 twist
I Have Sexdaily. I mean Dyslexia! Fcuk!
thanks for that.
80s can be a tad long for an 8 twist, are the Targex not a VLD?
Stalker, curious to understand how you think "real world info" on an internet forum is going to be any better at accounting for chamber variation ?
The simulation can at least have a fairly decent go at taking into account barrel length, projectile length, seating depth, powder burn rate, etc, etc.
Starting low and working up in small increments is the only way I know of accounting for chamber variation. You know of any other way ?
When it comes to evaluating different powder and projectile combos for a specific requirement, Quickload is something I have personal experience of, and seen the benefits.

Rather saying any info needs to be tested for particular rifles. I have seen quickload perform.very well but have also seen it cause a bit of head scratching
Real experience with powders/projectiles can give some.idea of wherw to start looking and working up from. By no means anything definitive or a justification to jump straight to a load but definitely enough potential to give ideas of powder and projectile combos to look at with potenttial for added commentary around cleanliness, temp sensitivity etc. Its not the method of attaining info but rather the ability to deduce quality of info tgat is in question and i believe the OP has that ability
