    Load for the Blue, Winchester 12 gauge WAA 1224 wads

    Greetings,

    I have been given an unopened bag of these but unlike oyher outers of Winchester wads, there is no indication of the load. Google is no help nor is the Winchester website or Lyman's shotshell 5 th edition.

    Probably an obsolete product but clearly able to be used, so does anyone have an indication of the load?

    It is a smaller load than their 1 1/8 oz White Waa 12.

    Thank You.

    What answer did you find because I've also got a bag of blue wads and can't find any info on them?

    From memory blue wads were for 1 3/16 loads. Like 34gram unusual load. I had a whole heap I sold a while back.

    Stack it up to a 1oz and 1 1/8th wad and see where it sits it should give you the answer.. As for load data you could prob use for 1 1/8rh in bigger shot size.

    @Three O'Three

    24 grams. They have a concave cup base which reduces the capacity.

    It is on the label; top left of the centre image of the plastic bag in a small blue circle.

    Yup, "Blue" is a bit vague. So, just to clarify forever, @Three O'Three, MY BLUES.Winchester 12 gauge WAA 1224 wads are these.

    Bear in mind it is the cup capacity which was the question, so I wrote "They have a concave cup base which reduces the capacity," but The Yanks, (English is their second language), have described them as convex......

    They will be not doubt for the aa compression formed hulls. Not the straight wall European hulls. Measure the base with some verniers

    Thinking about it, i suspect the only way you can get the wad identified will be to telephone Reloaders and arrange to post one to them for their identification.
    Which won't be possible for another couple of weeks at least....if not more.
