Yes with modern pills, better powders and probably barrels also, the old 06 is a beautiful thing. I like 165 as lighter lighter load. Noslers’ BT’s and AB’s on 58.5 grains for 2930 fps.

I too use the 165 gr projectiles but in my 300wsm at 3250, the extra speed does wonderfull things at the other end, misty things
