Load data using older Nobel Rifle # 0,1,2 smokeless

    Hi,
Just new to the forum from BC Canada. Was looking for any info on load data using Nobel powder, I was told the new IMR 4064 is pretty close to the burn rate and characteristics of the Nobel Rifle powder. I reload .243 Win,.308 Win and 30.30 Win
all with IMR 4064. I realize I would have to start with min load charges and work my way up.

But wanted to get hold of some load recipes for above calibres specifically using the Nobel powder. BTW I lived and worked and travelled all of your beautiful Australia when I was 29 years old back in 1989. Almost immigrated, the best time of my entire life. I did everything from shearing sheep to working at a GM Holden dealership in Melbourne and being a bus boy at a Hotel at the Gold Coast.

Very fond memories,I still email friends I boarded with in Melbourne,Sydney,Paramatta and Adelaide.
Thanks very much in advance from a very appreciative and crazy Cannuck.

And welcome to the forum Mssr Ghost, although I know sweet FA about the old powder in question, my old man might have some old manuals (he also did work for Dyno Nobel 30 odd years ago, so not outside the realms of possibility)

I also have an old Lyman manual that lists loads for Nobel powder.

Unfortunately I'm in the states for the next couple of weeks but will look them up when I get home.

    Cheers

Found it, for 80 grain bullets starting loads are no0 38 gr, no1, 33 and no 2 29.5 so the imr equivalents appear to be 4350,4320, and 3031 respectively. Do they still make those powders? I had some nobel no 80 shotgun powder given to me a while back would have been 40 plus years old and had started to decompose.

An associate of mine swapped powders unknowingly and blew up a gun and half of his whiskers.

You would have to be blind to get them mixed up they have Rifle and Pistol in large print on the tins
