How do you tell what powder you've got by "looking" at it
I only have a few containers of powder which came from the guy that done these loads and it is different in its form, reloder 22 is pellet like and 760 is small balls.
Well i took the rifle out of the stock last night, filed down the skeleton mag frame a bit as it looked like it was bending the trigger guard\mag floor plate when screwing it back together, apart from that i have done nothing but another clean with Bore Eliminator this morning.
I went to the farm to try the 155 amax rounds but they are to long in the shell and i couldnt close the bolt, what a waste of time i thought but i then went scrounging through the ute and found 3 of the original 168 amax rounds, loaded up and let them go of the bonnet of the truck and guess what, 3\4" group 1 1\2" low.

You really need to take better notes. A few people have asked if your OAL was the same and you said yes, which clearly they aren't.
In saying all that, if your happy with your approach to reloading and are prepared to risk blowing your face off then who am I to say otherwise.
You would also be about the only person I have ever heard of that is comfortable making a decision on what powder you are using just by looking at at! Risky as fuck if you ask me!
I can look at the powder and tell what it is because i brought it from the guy that done the original loads for me so there is no guess work going on there, its what he used end of story!!
I thought i had the OAL on my 3 reloads right but yeah i did trim them a fraction long which i rectified straight away on the second attempt which still gave a shit group.
I think i have it all sorted now and have learnt a bit in the process.
Thanks for your really useful help!!
Not really sure, maybe the barrel was needing a dam good clean as it grouped after the second cleaning. The mag depth was always to long so that pressure spot was always there. I will do 3 more reloads and try them next days off.
I will pull the 155 amax's to and trim them to size for a test.
Been a great learning experience!
