Loads for 243 using 87grain Hdy hpbt

Have dies arriving for 243 this week, have ADI2209 and some hornady 87grain hollowpoint/boat tail on the way. What is a good starting load min and max as the ADI manual doesn't list the 87grain pill. Any info would be great.

I use 2208 and W760 just use the 85 loadings, the ADI 5th addition shows 42.5 to 45 grains of 2209. Where did you get your Horny's from?

My BRNO .243 absolutely loved these projectiles

    I used 44.5gr AR2209

But start lower and work your way up.

I got them from Gun Works, they were out of the HDY 87grain soft point, I read good things about the hollow point being good for medium game.

I found the 85 sierra hpbt much much more effective on deer (if that's what you intend to use it for). I tried the 87 Hornaday hpbt as well and had a few cock ups with it. Perhaps it was me as others reckon its ok. Anyway I used 45 grains 2209 with the sierra and it flattened long necks.

Conducted testing today best group 0.6'' using 44.0 grains 2209 Winchester primers and the HDY 87grain seated .025'' off the lands. Will settle on that load I think.
