Thread: Longer range projectile for Tikka 22-250?

I use 55gr Noslar Ballistic tips in my 250 @ 3600 fps , they work well on most animals, have shot goats at 300 yds, and quite a few fallow deer mostly body shot with that load. My wife has shot a couple of fallow with that load and both went down pretty quick. Turns rabbits into mush! Another bullet I like in the 22-250 and more so in the 223 is the 55 gr Hornady W/C, seems to work really well in the 223 at 3070 fps (20 inch Barrel) on deer and goats as well as small game. My wife also shot a young whitetail buck in Canada with my son's 22-250 a few years back using the 53gr Barnes XLC, that buck took two steps and dropped with a shoulder shot, that bullet isn't available now but the TSX should work as good.
