Your right it would do the same thing but that means carrying two rifles on a longer range hunt when i could just back the load off in the SAUM and have two loads for the same rifle (assuming they shoot a similar poi.) If a shot presents itself at 600 in goes the 162 if it's closer and the wife is shooting in goes the 140grn round.

Yeah, that makes more sense. You'll need to have a play and see if you can get the two loads to shoot to point of aim - I'd suggest finding someone with quickload or the Gordons tool, and seeing if you can get a combo of pills and powder that will have a similar trajectory. It would be really nice to be able to do it with one powder and setting the load amount and having everything just... work, but I suspect your mileage will vary from that! POI will be a headache I'd bet.

    Greetings,
Going to a lighter pill and a lighter charge of faster powder might be worth considering. Both will lower recoil.

Thanks il have a look into that Gordon's tool. I found that my old rem mag did it well. It shot 150 grain corelokts into the bullseye and 162 reloads 1.5 inches higher so worked out real well. Hopefully this is similar
