It's been a great rifle with low recoil which has been great for the wife. The reality is that I have my 308 for the bush work and 7mm SAUM for open country so the 260 probably won't get used if i keep it, so looking for ideas on a low recoil load for the 7mm, shooting will be under 400 probably less.

Any ideas? Thinking the likes of a 140grn Ballistic tip.

    Cheers
    Make the rifle heavier.

Bolt it into a properly designed chassis like a KRG, your felt recoil will decrease. Don't listen to the hold the forend and use a shooting sling crowd. It's 2025 not 1906.

Otherwise it's like trying to make a V8 more fuel efficient and lower emissions. Even if you achieve your goal, you ruin what made it good to start with.

    Don't bother.

Perhaps the easiest solution is to keep the .260 as your wife likes it.

Interesting......advice for a rifle that more than likely was CHOSEN as lighter carry rifle to begin with.... Your "conclusion" goes both ways.

Let's buy a rifle chambered in a magnum cartridge and make it as light as possible, why is it so hard to shoot well?
