Thread: Magnetodspeed "sporter" suppressor mod

Well after getting completely different velocity readings with the same load a couple days apart using my mates Caldwell chrono I decided to mod my magnetospeed sporter so I can use it with a suppressor.
I've found the magnetospeed to be very consistent across different lighting (cloudy vs clear and sunny).
I also figured no point in having it sitting in the draw and using something I don't trust,
I was going to sell and upgrade to the v3 magnetospeed but I would've probably lost a fair whack of $$$ plus had to outlay on the v3.
First up apologies I didn't take any before pics.
But basically followed a video tutorial on YouTube which I'll link in this thread too.
After scribing a line .6" around the top of the base I then used a cut off wheel on my dremel to trim the base down so the whole unit will sit closer to the muzzle line when strapped to the suppressor.
I also cut a piece of bike tube to go between the base and the suppressor as even cut down with the smaller rubber shim they come with I think the muzzle line would still be too high from the magneto ramp.
