Just got myself some Maker 200gr sub 30cal projectiles for my Bergara Ba13 308. 1:8 twist . Most of my hunting is tight bush stuff over a indicating dog. So 10 to 60 mt shots are it.
Does anyone have a recipe for a sub load for this setup . thanks MM
I'm using 12.8g Trail boss in my sako 90 with a 1:7 twist. They doing about 1000 fps.
12gn Trail Boss average 1066fps over 5 shots (LabRadar)
12.5gn Trail Boss average 1201fps over 5 shots (LabRadar) Not Subsonic
Tikka 308W 16 inch 1-8 twist barrel.
Used heavy crimp
Had to come up 10 MOA from 100yard zero from "normal" 100m Zero
12gns accuracy was 1.5 inch group approx
12.5 accuracy was approx 2.5 inch group approx
Certainly both groups would be good enough for deers shooting at 100m or less.
Very quiet, like Subsonic, suppressed .22 almost.
I went to the range this morning to try out some 150 BT's loads and I put 3 subs through at the end at 100 yards (200gr makers) Its appears my barrel has sped up a bit now that its had about 70 rounds through it.
They now doing around the 1115- 1130 mark so will try a new load at 12.3g Trail boss and see how that goes.
