Thread: making ,223 blanks

Any body know where to source a rosette crimp for making .223 blanks? We use a line launcher similar to a can cannon on a semi regular basis for work and would like to tailor some loads to suit different jobs.

A bit of silicon in the neck of the case works fine.

I doubt that will work.The barrel is plugged with only sideways holes drilled for gas.

have you tried drilling a 6mm hole into a steel block then a 4mm hole slightly more deeply then say 3mm, and tapping it on top of empty case to see if it will work????
if you crimp case in with pliers it should work,be a bit agricultural though.

Hornady make universal dies for forming blank ammo, they form a perfect crimp every time.

I have made hundreds of blanks with them over the years for weddings, funerals, stun guns and net guns, the dies from hornady work very well.

ive made one before. if you have someone who has a mill its easy enough. pm me if you want some details
