The creedmoor case is more effective in a medium action limited to 2.8" coal. More optimal seating position for the projectiles in the case. Less case taper allowing good case capacity for the shorter shoulder length.
The 08 based brass is too long to do this without pushing the projectile right into the case.
Good point. This is what killed the .260 Rem, that and the slow twist. Can be a problem in the 7mm-08 too.
