Have a look on hodgdon website for load data. Someone elses accurate load might shoot like shit or be an over load in your mates rifle....
just grab some 2208 and on line loading data from ADI and start from there.
@Danny will, I'd say he has tried every 308 pill under the sun And his loads are deadly
@Danny have you got a load that shoots well in a 85?
I don't want to have to do too much development, if I can get someone's data for this particular rifle and start a grain lower and work up then it would save me a lot of time.

Cool mate cheers
All rifles are individuals of course and even the next 85 Finnlight off the production line to your mate's one will probably shoot better with a different powder, bullet combination than his 85's most accurate hunting load. Having said that, I've found that 45gr of AR 2206H with the 150 SST groups .5" or better at around 2,800 fps in my Sako 85. Close to max load so start at about 43gr and work up.
Prefer the slower AR 2208 (Hodgdon Varget) with the heavier bullets such as 165 Hornady's.
Thanks for the input guys, I will work up a load with 2206h and 150sst as I already have some.
Cheers
I use 45 2208, Lapua, Fed match, 150 SST and 2800 coal.
Accurate load and have tried 45.5 and 46 but no obvious improvements for more bang...not sure about velocity but does the job.
I know this is the reloading section but this is still useful information. My Rem 700 308 shoots factory Hornaby 150sst at around .80.(prob could do better in better hands) The sako could quite well shoot factory 150sst better than that. My 243 shoots factory fed powershoks (100gr) .56-.75 depending how i do my part. If you just after a hunting round some rifles shoot factory ammo as good, some even better than some rifles that use reloads . Unless you into reloading as thats part of the experience you want thats fine , if you just want something accurate for hunting theres prob no need to go reloads as lots of factory ammo are darn accurate, esp in a sako. I mean, cheap Fed Powershoks in a charter arms 243 shooting .56. My mate struggles to get that in his reloads and he spend hours on it and it pisses him off lol.
Of cause, all rifles are different, depends on why you want to go the reloading way as its as much a hobby as it is getting better results out of your rifle
