    Question next caliber help

    hi guys
    looking for peoples experience
what caliber to get, so far the 308 has served me dam well but ballistically im firing bricks
looking at something in the 6.5 or 7mm range or suggestions?
have a tikka that will be taking the barrel so can be long action rounds

also something cost effective i shoot 130-150 rounds when i go out

    cheers for your input

+1 for 284. Mines nearly finished looks like it will get the 162 amax up to 3k no issues. First loads were up at 3120 with mild pressure signs. Cant wait

.300 Win Mag? .338 LM? If you're shooting that number of rounds then probably best to stick with the .308 and just dial. Mind you I don't know what it costs to reload the other suggestions on here.

Just remember if its lapua brass mild pressure signs are usualy getting well up there, it doesn't seam to mark that easy but when it does you get loose primers after a few firings, then blown primers. This was not with 284 so that brass may be different..... go cautiously or you will be throwing brass away sooner than you think

284 is a good cal, as it 280, 280AI, etc

Remember Magnums = less in the mag but the bigger ones = range.

300 RUM, 338 Edge 7mm RUM are all great cal's but for an easy carry rifle 284 is hard to go past

7mmSAUM if you want to keep it short and light but back to less mag capacity and not to different to the 284 just need a longer action

280AI is another I would like to run

Its all in the capable hands of abe. Norma brass. 26 inch tube long throat long action seat the pills way out to touch.

Yeah just keep an eye on case size at the lower end and all will be good.... I waisted some brass as they had minor signs of pressure and didn't measure...next thing primers were getting loose
