    Greetings All,
Periodic lack of supply of handloading components has been ongoing for some time now. It is driven by panic buying primarily in the US driven by their electoral cycle and should not expect to end any time soon, especially with what is going on at the moment. I note a complete lack of whining about the situation in this thread. Well done. One thing we can do is to make sure we have adequate supply of components for the loads we favour at the moment. When a new wonder projectile comes along we can try it and if supply dries up before we can find another box we can still go back to our old load. Contrary to what some believe it will still work just as well as it did last time we used it. We should also be able to have some fun at our less well prepared acquaintance's expense.
    Regards Grandpamac.
PS Still using Norma projectiles I stocked up on in the 1980's.

When you live on a little island in the middle of the pacific, it pays ( and has done for years ) to be well prepared for shortages, of any component you need for your hobby, whatever it be.

True. At least projectiles don't go off with time.

To blame the lack of supplies on the US election just ignores the way things work in the USA .And just plain ignorant.
    1. There have been Riots , and with increasing ferocity, for the last 6 years by BLM/Antifa
    2. The Con Virus situation
    3. The Election of an avowed "Anti Ar" President
    4. The president of the "Grandfathering" clause of US law
    5. The addition of 7,000,000+ new firearms owners ,who all want ammunition with their new "gun"
    6. The fact that US shooters are largely seasonal Hunting/Shooting and the fact that in winter it is to F@#$%$&$#ing cold , and they reload over winter
7 An industry largely owned by "Corporate Fund Managers" , who will not fund newer/ more manufacturing plant
All of this adds up to where we are , up sh1t creek and no paddle .Unless you can afford to pay through the nose that is .

Well I know what I just paid for a box of CCI200 primers.
At least Gun City had some in stock but they shipped to Whangarei from the Moteuka shop.
And cost about $30 more than what everyone else who had sold out had them listed for.

Yes I could have got federal or another brand but that would mean having to do a new load build up for 2 calibers.

I am in Canada at present, same thing, supplies running out, I just bough a load of powder and bullets, couldn't get large rifle primers, the Supplier said they normally buy 200000-300000 extra primers in an USA election year, this year they couldn't get supplies, as six to 10 months behind,
Hornardy/ Federal are running ammo plants 24 hours a day, they simply cant produce enough to meat demand, i think for a while there was raw stock suppliy, lead/brass problems.
The demand is pretty much the USA, and will at sum point taper down, The big Canada reloading suppliers, are saying at least 12-24 months,
Thus far in Canada, European supplies Norma, VV powders, PMC PP S&B ammo are still flowing.
I just tried to buy 160gr 6.5 Hornady Bullets, must made 20 calls, none to be found, so now I've got 400 Norma Alaska 156g coming,
