    Odd 300 blackout loading

Always loaded my own 30 cal casts .309.

Decided to try some 208 grain Amax .308
These measure up consistantly at .308

brass inner dia .298 average then flared.

Seems like the brass is expanding quite a bit during projectile insertion.

Ive never noticed it loading other calibers with jacketed projectiles.

Fits in case gauge fine afterwards.

Is this normal or am i missing something here. Name: uploadfromtaptalk1431507264885.jpg

Looks like your expander might not be sizing back up enough?or your dies are sizing to much down?
Could be also due to the brass thickness.
Are you using resized 223 cases or 221 fireball or original black out?

What's the head stamp on the case that has flared out when the projectile was seated?
Is it the same as the others?
I am picking that the wall thickness of that case is too thick. There are quite a few case brands that have too thick a brass around the neck to be used as 300 blackout brass.
A Sheridan case gauge will pick this issue up once a projectile is seated. Other gauges wont.
Don't chamber it as it will get stuck in your chamber.

Measure the diameter of the neck once projectile is seated.
You can compare that to google info on the calibre.
When reloading my 300 whisper I have to turn the neck down. Not so for my black out.
