My brother has asked me to develop some loads for him in his 7mm08. I'm just wondering what you guys have as pet loads. So far I have some 2206h and 139g Hornady interlocks. But I can get whatever else I need.

I load 3 tikkas with 46g of 2208, winchester lr primers and a 120 TTSX barnes. All shoot 3/4 moa and all had great sucess on game.
2208 or RL15 will work well. 2206 might be a touch fast?
cci 200 primer, norma brass 43 grains 2208 140 nosler ballistic tip or sierra prohunter has worked well for me
2206H is fine for the light pills = 120g Nosler B-Tip 43.5g 2206H
Tipped over a nice wee boy this arvo without any fuss
I usually use 2208 or 2209 with 140gr pills. 44.3gr 2208 or 50gr 2209 (these are over book max)
Lapua 308 brass,Fed 210,43 grns Vhit.N540 pushing 139 sst (warmish but not insane)
What brass are you using? Seating depth? COAL?
Always wanted to try this projectile - and seeing as I have already use those primers and powder.... might give it a whirl.
On a side note - I use Lapua .308 brass, WIN LR, 44gr 2208, 140 BT @ 2810fps (over book max).
Winchester brass. I never chronyed it so dont know there speed.
My 7mm08 loves 2209 & the 140gr NBT or the Berger VLD. Both projectiles shoot 1/2moa & are absolutely devastating on game. Brass is necked down Lapua 308 & ignited with CCI primers.
Like Horihunter my load (Hot Load) is 50gr 2209 but work up to this to be on the safe side. According to the Oehler these are running at 2,970fps 10 feet from the muzzle.
I've found a good load with 49gr N550 in lapua brass fed gold match primers and 120ttsx avg 3060fps grouping .75 or less.
Just got some of those TSX (non tipped) for the roar, for my 7mm08.
Should be good I reckon, good as in not carrying a suppressed magnum anymore anyway

42.5gr 2208 behind 139gr Hornady BTSP. Shoots well in my Ruger and a mates Marlin. Excellent on game as well.
43.5 gns of 2208 driving a 140gn ballistic tip works well in my tikka
Thanks heaps guys. What's the reason for necking down .308 lapua brass?
48gr 2209, berger 140gr VLD, nosler brass and federal primers. Projectile seated as far as poss in tikka short action mag. this is going through a chopped and supressed tikka. 1/2 moa running at 2550 through chrony. Bit slower than expected but accuracy is spot on.
A tack driver I have loaded and used in a couple of T3s is 50gn 2209 (compressed), norma brass, 140gn NosBT or AB, CCI magnum primer, seated to just fit in the mag. Over the chrony 2920fps and very low ES from memory. Best group 1 ragged hole and I do need to see if I can repeat that (after I had put S&B Zenith on). Start at 47gn and work up in 0.5gn increments to determine safety in your rifle.
I use, annealed Privi and winchester brass (from when I bought factory ammo) 43.2 gr of 2208, CCI no200 primer (switched to CCI match grade recently and saw no difference), and a 139 Hornady SST @ 2.820in OAL. In a Howa 1500 Ranchlands Compact, with a Light contour 20inch barrel, and a DPT overbarrel supressor.
46.4g 2209, 150g Corelokt, Rem Brass, Winch Primer for 2780fps out of my Ruger. Cruise Missiles:cool:
In a mates Sako 75 the accuracy load I make for him is 139gn SSTs, Hornady brass, Federal match primers, OAL of 2.905" and 44.5gns of AR2208. 2800fps and regularly holds within 1/3 MOA.
I use 41.5g of 2206H in Remington brass with CCI primers 139g Hornady SSTs. They get me about 1" out of my model 700.
I've got a bunch of test loads loaded up with some 160g Sierra game kings. Not sure how they'll do. A lot of you guys are using 2208, is that more suitable than 2206h?
