Has anyone tried the peterson 280ai brass? I am currently using norma brass but I am interested in consistency and primer pocket hardness of the peterson. I have used it in 6.5 creedmoor with the srp but ended up using lapua brass as I was able to get better velocities.
If you want go halves in some I'll grab some.
Peterson makes some of the best brass in the world. Haven't tried their 280ai but have been using their 6.5 Creedmoor SP brass for a couple of years with numerous warm to hot reloads and the cases still have tight primer pockets which I can't say the same about for the SP Lapua 6.5 Creedmoor brass I still have. It's at least the equal of or better than Norma or Lapua. My next lot of .308 brass will be Peterson instead of Lapua.

I'll second that. Shot FTR for several seasons using Lapua Match brass. Went down the rabbit whole hog - neck turned, weight sorted, seating using Wilson dies and dial indicator on an arbor press...Quote:

Robert at Workshop Innovation has 400 in stock, at the present.....
I have Peterson in 308W. Unfortunately it is somewhat heavier than Lapua Palma and as such the powder capacity is limited versus the Lapua especially when I am trying to push 180gr projectiles along for FTR.
Re quality. New Peterson has the same neck thickness variation as New Lapua so no better there. Life I cannot comment on yet. Both my Peterson and Lapua are SRP.
Was discussing brass quality with Alex at AMP Annealers the other day and he told me of Norma Lapua and Peterson the Peterson was the most consistant of the 3 in their testing.

AMP makes the best home annealer on the planet and owner Alex Finlay provides 1st class service and is always very helpful. We're lucky to have such a resource available to us here in NZ. A lot of people have the idea that annealing is all about brass life. Not so, the main benefit is consistent neck tension which leaves to lower SD's and improves accuracy. Improved case life is just icing on top.Quote:
