Thread: Pink Brass

Iv managed to turn some brass pink following a online method of vinegar water dish soup and salt . It polishes out apparently it can be to much acid and strip the zinc but on an American forum many have done the same and a steel case in the mix was the culprit I used a steel container because I was determined to come up with a use for these empty formula containers looking back everyone online used plastic what day you ? Reaction with the steel? Stripped of zinc? Polishes back to “brass” very easy . Is it usable or is it rubbish? Will try with 1 case next time not 30
