    I found the 178 gr a max and then eldm / eldx to be more useful in the win mag. And stabilising very well in a 1 in 11 twist. They are just hard to find at the moment.

    Yes they do, so long as bullet placement is right. Can be a bit messy with shoulder shots but you still get your animal.

    Yes I think that may be the sweet spot as far as weight, speed and game performance will be but as you say they are hard to find, near on impossible I'd almost say.

    It's always going to be messy with a 300 mag

    What is the preferred placement for those @Mooseman ?

    2217 and 208 ELD-M is the go for me. My barrel is 26” and long throated for 3.5 OAL. I get 2980 fps with the 208s and they do the job pretty well.

    When I had my .300 they definitely killed far better than the 200gr eldx.
