    Popular loads .223

    Hi all,

Just thought I'd share a load that worked well in my rifle.

Could maybe start a sticky that helps out out with popular loads?

    Bullet: Sierra 69 TMK
    Primer: Federal Small Match
    Powder: 24.5gr ADI 2206h

    25g 2206h behind a 55 gr Hornady SP.
MOA from a Savage Axis chopped to 18”
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

I used to use ar 2208 until a few years ago but it was a bit slow 2900 ish. I got the rifle supressed and was talking with the smith about it, he gave me some 2207, 2206h, and bm2 to compare with 2208. End of story, 2206h gave the tightest groups and the lowest es for velocity. 2207 was the most economical but burnt dirty and the bm2 seemed the same as 2208.
    So 2206h it became.

Sub MOA all day using BM2 and 55gr V-max, 65gr SGK in both Rem 1:12 and Tikka 1:8 rifles.

Hmm, after my purchase yesterday (second hand zastava) I'll soon be loading for a .223. Have heaps of 2206H for my .308 win, so I'm liking the theme of this thread!

63gr Sierra SPs in front of BM2 - been slaying reed deer for a long time. 8208 is a more modern powder equivalent to BM2 that in one 223 gave the same accuracy for reduced velocity spread.

Never ied those ttsx, always had good results with the sierras, oh and some stonkingly good 52 grainers @xring made a few years ago. Haxe been tempted to give them a go but buying 100 and finding them useless always put me off. Sample packs might be the answer
