    Powder

New to reloading and have brought some 60gr Nosler Partitions to use on hopefully some larger game. Do i have to use the powders recommended in the load data or?
    Cheers!

Yeah. Follow the manuals. Start a bit lower. If its a .223 I would start with BM2, 2206 or CF223. BLC-2 is a cheaper alternative to CF223.
    What powders have you got?

My understanding is that Bench Mark comes as BM1 & BM2.

BM2 should go well. ADI powders are available and a good price.

BM2 is $120 a kilo if I get it via workshop innovations, a bit cheaper again though my club, 2208 should be about the same.

I see you are in "HUTT VALLEY" so you can buy it via Workshop Innovations - sales@workshopinnovation.co.nz then you pick it up from island bay. "Wellington Customers - we can arrange for you to collect directly from our supplier"

BM2 and 64gr Serria Spire Points are a match made in heaven in my .223 AR15.

@JaydenMcN Get a good reloading manual it will be worth it's weight in gold.

    Cheers

@JaydenMcN look up Belmont Ammunition. They have recenley started selling powders and have Action Rifle which is a St Marks military powder not previously released to the commercial market called 747. Powderhttp://belmontammo.co.nz/product-category/belmont-powder/

Decent prices and a burn rate that is 3% faster than Winchester 748. This powder was developed for 5.56 NATO so is perfect for the 223 Rem. Not much in the way of data so just take W748 and - 3% Hodgdon Reloading | Home

Very high load density and you know you will have a reliable source.

This is the biggest issue in NZ for relaoders, sourcing powders. best bet would be these guys followed by ADI.

Mate had a large quantity of 747 that he used in a range of cartridges, not just 223. An excellent powder. Also has a lower flame temp so in theory a little kinder on throats although others theorise that ball powder is "abrassive". Have always had excellent results with 760. Belmont's price per can is vg. I notice some of the sports shops now advertising it - but not at the Belmont price

Yeah I did a bit of shooting today with my first loads one at 23.5 one at 24.5 and one at 25.2. And 25.2 won by a long shot..
