Thread: Powder for 6.5 06 and 140gr projectile

Funny you should bring this up I was just getting stuff sorted from a day out

I friend gave me some AR2225 to try but I couldn't find much data so left it for today just upped the H4831 and along side used a Magnum primer

Results were, all 4831, remember Hornady book max was 49.4 but Tentmans Q/L gave me at least a 55Gn window


Frederal Match 210 CCI Magnum
51gn - 2600 2663
52gn - 2630 2678
53gn - 2706 2753
54gn - 2782 2823
55gn - 2830 2865

So we started off about 60FPS faster using the Magnum, but as the charge got bigger the gap closes till after 5 gns up it is half almost what it was.
I still think there is easily another grain in the Load maybe as there were no visible signs of pressure and no felt signs either.
