Powder of choice for 140gr in 6.5x55??

    Hey Guy's,
Just wanting to see what powder everyone was having best success with in the 6.5x55. Going to start reloading soon for my Blaser R93 in this calibre & all ready have lapua brass & 140gr Amax's on hand. I think I've got some 2209, 2213 & even some N165 sitting on the shelf I think too. Wanted to put together a consistently accurate, fast expanding load for goats & varmints from close to waaaaayy out there. Recommendations??

They will all work N560 generally gives best speed. I tried W760 in my 6.5x57AI but pressure built to fast even though it fine in the 7x57. I'm trying 2209 and 2213sc over the next couple of days and I have a kg of N160 which I hope will work.

2209 is supposed to be the best, but I only had 2213sc on me, so used that.
I'm shooting 140gn SSTs in a T3. Hornady brass, 47.0gn of powder (recommended max), Fed Match Primers.

I run a load of 50g of 2217 behind a 140g Amax. It goes well in my looong barreled mauser, and shoots well in a mates tikka and a lakelander.
If you find yourself in a fair fight....your tactics suck

I'm using Re22. It is supposed to be first cousin to MRP. Recent data, using Norma brass, RWS primer and Amax 140gn. 24 inch Tikka No signs of undue pressure.

I have been loading Amax with 48.3 gr N560, and 46.5 gr Re22 for Partitions (can't get the 22 now though)

Don't get caught up chasing speed in your R93. Accuracy is what matters and should be there at 25-50fps less than turn bolts. Keep it around there and you will have no dramas. The projectiles can like a lot of jump if it is a factory barrel, so be aware of that. N560 or 2217 or 2209 will suit. 130gr scirrocos will do everything you want, up close and at distance.

I used the 129gr Hornady interlock out to 600 with (surprisingly) awesome accuracy. Another cheap projectile that kills well.
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.

Cool thanks for the help. It would seem the swede is one of those cartridges that digests pretty much any powder & still shoots well.
