I’m after powder suggestions to aid the suggestions made 16-17.5” 150gn projectiles

Not interested in alliant powders prefer adi and maybe Hodgson

    2208 all day every day

It was originally made for 600 yard competition shooting in the USA

Tried a few powders when experimenting with 150 eldx and 162 eldm's. Tried rl17, 2209, h100v and finally 2208. 2208 gave acceptable velocity and outstanding consistency.

IMR 4895 gives good results with 140gn but never tried it with 150's

    I've only ever used 2208 with 140gr to 162gr.

Brilliant thanks all any start loads for 2208? I’m loaded longer than saami with plenty of room in the case but will load a seating depth test on a light load to kick it off

    Greetings All,
I am using AR2206H with the 145 grain projectiles in a 7mm-08 for F-class and it shoots great. AR2206, AR2207, AR2208 and AR2209 were developed in Australia by Mulwex in the early 1980's and picked up by Hodgdons the following decade. They were the first of the extreme powders although not called that at the time. AR2206 was slowed a bit to become AR2206H / H4895and AR2209 seems to have been sped up a bit to be closer to the earlier H4350 and IMR4350. AR2208 has only been made in Australia and as Varget was a new powder in the Hodgdon line up. There are not many cartridges that you can't load with one of the 4.
    Regards Grandpamac.
