Thread: Powder recommendation 6x45, 85gr bullets

Im after recommendations for the next powder to try in my 6x45. I shoot predominantly 85gr bullets, and have so far tried 2206H and 748. Struggled to get to book max with 2206H due to powder compression. The 748 got to pressure, but was erratic as on target, also quite slow velocity.

Next port of call is going to be either 2219 (H322) or BM2 (Benchmark). My barrel is 18”, so wondering if 2219 is the go. The data has 2219 filling the case to about 95% where the BM2 will be a compressed load again like the 2206H I’ve already used. 2219 gives less velocity for the same pressure, but could be more effective in the short tube.
