Thread: Powder recommendations

Good Afternoon.

Have 3 new rifles arriving shortly 30.06, 7 mm rem mag and 22.250, local gunshop has a heap of all ADI powders and I will be loading 150 and 160 outer edge bullets in the 30-06

Light and heavies in the 7mm rem mag 120-175's and up to 55grain in the 22-250

Was thinking 2209, 2213sc and 8828 should do.

For you that reload these three any other options Alliant maybe?

I'd rather get IMR but can't find a shop with it in stock

Spoilt bugger wish our shops had lots of all adi um I use 2217 in the 7mmrm

2208 works well with the 55 gr 22 250. 2209 is good in 30 06 and 2217 or 2225 will work with the heavier 7 mm mag bullets.

As others have said 2217 or 2225 for rem mag, 2225 would be my preference once over 168gr

My pick for 30-06 would definitely be 2209

I Found 2206H great for speed and accuracy in the 22 250 with 52-55gr bullets.

Those bullets linked look great if all they say is correct

Another one for 2217 in the rem mag.

2213sc for the 7mm Rem Mag and 30-06.
2208 for the 22-250

Claremount firearms may have IMR powder?

They were pretty good when I was in WA.

Just out of interest, what will you use the 3006 and 7mm mag for there? – One can only imagine the hoops you’d have to jump through to get the permits.

2225 for RM with 160+ gn pills, 2217 for lighter
