I have decided that I really need a powder thrower now.
I've been measuring each load out, and it's taking forever!
What make/brand type should I be looking at?

Life is natures way of keeping meat fresh
I have the same problem but don't want a thrower, i want auto dispenser.
However they are expensive so i keep weighing by hand.

A green one.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
Am using Lee thrower and its ok but I still weigh every load. Am going to get a trickler to hopefully speed things up a little.
I use a rcbs thrower and weigh every 8th load (number of holes on tray ) it's seems consistent ,had armed lee it was supprisingly accurate an d prob easier to set up to me anyway only using one load on two rifles( and when I miss it's me not the load or rifle)this works for me an d I seam to have a good hunting load
I have a lee thrower that is almost perfectly accurate. Still weigh every 5th tho.
My Lee one is pretty good also, but I drop the load just short then trickle up to weight on the scales. But 9 times out of ten it is on the mark, sometimes shoots over. Which is a real PIA

they're not -that- expensive .. I got a Lyman Gen 6 Landed ( from Sinclair ) for approx $300 (from memory) and it's the business. There are a few little foibles to it but it produces a good consistent load.
There are more expensive ones out there like the RCBS with more features like memory, etc, but for me the lyman does the job.
Yes the flake type powders well not flow through a thrower. Well hasn't for me at least.
As long as you put heaps of powder through to get rid of sticking with static. And be consistent with the operation
I even have marks on the tube and keep the powder between these marks, that's the pocket that is most consistent for me

I use the Lee 2.8cc scoop and then trickle.
When I buy one I suspect it will be the Lee as its $49 and I hear few bad words on it, in fact a lot of happy sounds. Other makes are a lot more I cant justify spending that myself. In fcat I'll probably buy 2, one for 308w and one for 303british and label them.

I have the RCBS and throw slightly light and trickle each load up. Very quick and the thrower is pretty accurate.
I have a spare Lee thrower here too if you want to try it out.

There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!
Get a blue one, Mine works great UNLESS you are using powder with long grains, Short grains and ball powders work great, mind you so does the progressive press!
Trust the dog.........................................ALWAYS Trust the dog!!
Key to success with the lee thrower (and I imagine any other) is consistency in use and firm movement. If I do that then it drops pretty close each time. Still weigh stuff though. If you use ball powder pretty much anything will measure it accurately.
My Lee one is good enough for me.
Also depends if you are going for bench rest accuracy, a hunting or service rifle load.
Most ADI powders in mine will be 90% spot on or 0.1gn plus or minus.
Accuracy loads I'll weigh every one.
When loading a gazillion .223 roads, I'll check every 1 in 5.
As others mention, cycle at least a full container of powder through it to get rid of static charge.
Use a steady even throw action for all.
